PTDI Send aircraft NC212i Thailand orders

BANDUNG-a unit of two aircraft NC212i orders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MOAC) Thailand was sent by PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI). Thailand became the second most country to use PTDI production aircraft.

Corporate Communications Manager & the promotion of PT Dirgantara Indonesia (Persero) Adi Prastowo said, PTDI has been delivering one aircraft unit NC212i for the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MOAC) of Thailand. The aircraft was shipped in a way flown from Bandung to Thailand.

"This is a follow-up contract signing of two NC212i aircraft that have been implemented 17 March 2017 ago. With this shipment, remaining one more unit. The plan will be handed over by the end of this year, "said Adi through the press release, Tuesday (22/10/2019).

According to him, the NC212i aircraft can be used as passenger transport, VIP, cargo, rain making, troop/paratroop transport and medical evacuation. This function can be installed alternately in accordance with the operational needs of Thailand's Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperative (MOAC).

NC212i is a new generation multi-purpose aircraft from NC212 with a capacity of 28 passengers. The aircraft has a ramp door, a spacious cabin in its class. Equipped with a more modern navigation and communication system, the cost of operation is lower but still competitive in the small aircraft market.

The NC212i aircraft has been fully undertaken by PTDI, meaning PTDI is the only aircraft industry in the world that currently manufactures NC212i aircraft. PTDI has managed to produce NC212 aircraft as many as 114 units for domestic and overseas, from a total of 585 units of NC212 series aircraft population in the world.

Domestic operators using the NC212 series are TNI AU, TNI AD, TNI AL, police, BPPT. Where the NC212 series were used for civilian, military, and Maritime Surveillance Aircraft (MSA) aircraft.

While the foreign operators were Thai countries for military transport aircraft and weather modifications (rain making), the Philippines and Vietnam for military transport aircraft.

From 1978 to the present, Thailand's total airplanes have reached eight units. Starting in 1978, Thailand purchased two units of NC212 aircraft, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MoAC). Then in the year 1980 bought NC212 as many as two units and the year 1982 bought again one airplane unit NC212 PTDI production.

In the year 1999, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MoAC), Thailand purchased two units of CN235 Military Transport. Thailand also purchased an C212-400 aircraft to carry out rain making, in the year 2015.

He further explained, the prospects of the aircraft industry today have a considerable market share, especially in commercial aircraft. As for the needs of the world NC212i aircraft for the next 10 years is estimated 255 units.

PTDI will increase the production capacity of NC212i aircraft, which originally four aircraft per year, to six aircraft per year. That target will begin next year to meet the target needs of NC212i over the next 10 years, mainly fulfilling expansion plans to Asia Pacific and Africa.
